Change to Services at Clarkson Community Church December 2021

Changes to services at Clarkson Community Church

Dear Clarkson Church Family

Given the changes and announcements of the past week, we wanted to let you know about changes to our upcoming services. We have made these decisions out of a desire to exercise caution, follow the expectations of similar businesses, and care for the most vulnerable among us.

This Sunday, December 19, we recommend that you participate in our online service, which you can find on our website or Facebook page. We know this is short notice, so for those who are alone, struggling, or need to be with someone, we invite you to watch the online service with us at the church building at 10 am.

Our Christmas Eve service will now be an online service at 5 pm on December 24. We have made this decision early as we had not planned to pre-record the service but will now have the videos to the editor by Sunday afternoon in order to be ready for Christmas Eve.

Our December 26 service was already planned to be online-only and will continue as planned.

Our January 2 service will also be online-only in order to simplify the decision-making over the Christmas break.

It is our hope that we will return to in-person services in January in order to be able to worship and celebrate together as a church family. We will have more information as circumstances allow.

We know that this is a difficult time and that these sudden changes to our COViD reality feel heavy on our hearts. Please feel free to reach out to any of our staff or elders if you need someone to talk to, pray with, or are in need of additional support. We believe that God is with us and that he invites us to lean on each other in our times of need.

Peace,

Jamie.

Quiet Christmas December 21, 2021 from 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Christmas can be a difficult season as we deal with the challenges of life. Because of this, we wanted to invite you to set aside an evening on the longest night of the year to take time to reflect on the many challenges and losses we face.
On Tuesday, December 21 the Quiet Christmas Service will be held at Clarkson Road Presbyterian Church at 7 pm. During this Quiet Christmas service, through music, spoken word, and the lighting of candles, we’ll acknowledge our losses and invite the Spirit of God into our woundedness. Sharlene Wallace, the harpist, will be providing music for the service.
To attend the Quiet Christmas service please sign up here.
Please note that we will be required to show proof of vaccination to attend this service.
To watch the Quiet Christmas service online, please click here.
The Quiet Christmas service is a shared service that will be led by Rev. Gale Macdonald from Clarkson Road Presbyterian Church and by Rev. Jamie Bay from Clarkson Community Church.

In Person Church Services August 2021

In-Person Church Services
This summer we are going to have In-Person
services every second Sunday at the church building.  While the online services will continue every Sunday, in-person will be every second week, alternating with our church picnics.  Come join us at the church on August 8, August 22 & September 5 for In-Person services at the church.

Health protocols
Given the provincial requirements, we are required to wear masks at all times inside the building except while presenting on stage or participating in communion. Physical Distancing is also required and Hand Sanitizer will be available at each entrance and throughout the building.  We encourage everyone who is part of Clarkson Community Church to be vaccinated as part of our desire to stop the spread of COVID-19 and return to full worship services.

For more details please contact the church office.

Church Family Picnics August 2021

August Picnic Lunches
Looking forward to seeing you on August 15th.
As we begin to connect socially with our church family, we believe the best starting place is with outdoor church picnics.  Every second Sunday in August we will be at Lakeside Park in Clarkson for a picnic lunch right after our online church service.  We would love you to bring a seat or blanket and something to eat and join us from 12 – 1:30 pm on Sunday, August 15 & 29.

Please click here for the map of Lakeside Park.

Directions
From Clarkson Community Church drive west on Lakeshore Road.
Turn south on Southdown and follow the road until it turns into Lakeshore Rd again.
Lakeside Park is at 2268 Lakeshore Rd W.

Health protocols
We are outdoors, masks will not be required as long as we remain 6ft from those who are outside our household.  Please bring a mask in case you are having a conversation with someone that requires you to be closer.

As with our Sunday services, we encourage everyone who is part of Clarkson Community Church to be vaccinated when they are eligible as part of our desire to stop the spread of COVID-19 and return to full worship services and social gatherings.
